Amal Abouda

Amal obtained her PhD from the University of Tunis El Manar in 2022, where she investigated antiphospholipid autoantibodies and TLR polymorphisms in sepsis. She then joined the University of Lausanne as a Swiss Government Excellence Postdoctoral Fellowship, focusing on identifying novel metabolites with anti-inflammatory properties and their role in trained immunity against lethal infections.

In 2024, she joined Dr. Elahi’s lab at the University of Alberta as a postdoctoral fellow. Her current research explores the neonatal immune system and cancer biology. Years of experience studying immune responses in infection and inflammation have cultivated her strong interest in immunometabolism and immune regulation.
